Don't miss the pop-up evening Food Fair on 2 July

The Waterloo Food Festival launches on Thursday 2 July with an outdoor food extravaganza. Emma Cons Gardens, opposite The Old Vic Theatre, will be transformed into a Pop-up Evening Food Fair between 5-8pm. Free to attend, visitors can expect free tasty treats, cocktails and live music. Stallholders include Assado, Baltic, Beer House, Cabin, Cubana, The Horse & Stables, Konditor & Cook, Greensmiths, Travelling Through, The Walrus, The Wall SE1 @ House of Vans, Wahaca and Yo! Sushi.

The Waterloo Food Festival runs from 1 to 31 July and offers a packed programme of events, tastings and demonstrations in and around the many food and drink venues in SE1. Other outdoor events taking place in July include:

• The Waterloo Sustainability Challenge and #SurplusFoodChallenge on Thursday 9 July – three Waterloo chefs battle it out to create a dish from that day's leftover food
• Outdoor Cocktail making & tasting event on Thursday 16 July – signature cocktail making and tasting from expert mixologists
• Waterloo Family Fete on Saturday 18 July - with knitting tent and gingerbread decorating
• Waterloo Food Quiz Night on 23 July – get your foodie thinking caps on and enter a team for this fun quiz night
• Waterloo World Showcase on Thursday 30 July – a showcase of all the wonderful flavours found in Waterloo

• Tequila and Mezcal Masterclass at Wahaca Waterloo – 7 & 21 July

• Weekly Barbeques, demonstrations and tastings at Greensmiths – various, check website
• Sunday Jazz at Baltic Restaurant & Bar – every Sunday in July
